A firm favourite with golfers across the world, La Manga Club has moved to ensure it remains a cut above its rivals as Europe’s premier golf destination resort after investing in a new fleet of greenkeeping machines.

Members and guests will enjoy an improved all-round playing experience from 2016 with Spain’s flagship resort having taken delivery of 20 new TORO machines.

The new fleet of mowers for the fairways, greens and rough will help bring added definition and playability to La Manga Club’s renowned golfing facilities, including three 18-hole courses, and is the first part of a new investment plan being overseen by La Manga Club’s director of golf Eduardo Ruiz.

Ruiz said: “With the huge number of rounds that are played at La Manga Club each year, it is imperative that we have the best and most modern greenkeeping technology available to keep our courses in the optimum condition.

“Making this investment will allow us to not only introduce different grades of rough around the fairways and greens but also to add increased definition to the courses, improving the overall presentation and making the experience of playing at La Manga Club better than ever.”

The purchase of the new machinery by La Manga Club follows the significant recent investment in its golf tuition complex, featuring a new Leadbetter Academy – the only one in mainland Spain.

Opened in 1972, La Manga Club remains the benchmark for European sports and leisure destinations and further improvements are planned over the coming months, including the refurbishment of selected apartments in the resort’s Las Lomas Village and Bar 37 in the golf clubhouse; the redesign of a new golf shop and installing new signage on its golf courses.

A five-time host of the Spanish Open and set in an area three times the size of Monaco, La Manga Club boasts three 18-hole courses, a nine-hole academy course and outstanding practice amenities among its array of five-star sports and leisure facilities.

As well as golf, the resort’s extensive facilities also include a 28-court tennis academy, a new High Performance Sports Centre and 2,000m² spa and fitness complex, a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses and more than 20 bars and restaurants.
