Tudor Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club will be this year’s launch pad for the prestigious William Hunt Trilby Tour.

It will be hosting the Kent regional championships on May 19, marking the start of a series of regional heats around the country. Each regional championship will be broadcast on Sky Sports, and the Trilby Tour is now officially the largest amateur golf television series in the UK and Europe.

The pre-qualifying rounds for the Kent regional championship take place at Tudor Park in Bearsted, near Maidstone on Saturdays, April 2 and May 7, and the deadline for entries is March 20 and April 24 respectively.

New for this year, Tudor Park, designed by Donald Steel, will be giving a place in the Kent regional championship to both the winner and the runner up in each of the pre-qualifying events.

“We are very excited and honoured to be the host for the first regional championship of this year’s William Hunt Trilby Tour,” said Tudor Park golf director James Ibbetson. “Golfers have described the Trilby Tour as the closest experience to a Professional tournament, playing under the pressures of an international televised event. It is an amazing opportunity for amateur golfers to make their mark.”

The competition is open to any male golfer aged over 18 who holds a current CONGU competition handicap. The handicap must be 18 or better with a handicap certificate that is no more than 14 days old on the day of the chosen pre-qualifier.

The cost for each pre-qualifier is £30 per person, inclusive of tea/coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, 18 holes of golf and prizes for the top four placing and nearest the pins. The format of the day is individual Stableford.

For more information or to book, contact the Tudor Park golf shop on 01622 739412 or alternatively email mhrs.tdmgs.golf@marriotthotels.com

The golf club is part of the four-star Tudor Park Hotel and Country Club which also has leisure facilities including a gym, swimming pool, steam room and sauna, plus conference facilities including 11 meeting rooms.
