A customer survey conducted by ClubstoHire.com, the No.1 golf club rental operator worldwide, has found that over 96% of their clients plan to take two or more golfing holidays during the next two years.

And of the 2,300 travelling golfers who took part in the survey, two-thirds (66%) indicated that they intend to take as many as three or more golfing holidays over the same period. Most rental customers have a handicap of 18 and above.

The results point to continued growth in the golf travel industry and are welcomed by ClubstoHire as it looks to expand a service that has helped travelling golfers save an estimated £2.7m (€3.5m/$4m) in airline excess charges over the past five years.

“We are delighted that so many of our customers are looking to travel more to enjoy the game year-round,” said CEO Tony Judge. “The survey also showed us that customers value our service and want to take advantage of it more often in future.”

The vast majority (90%) had no issues when booking on the popular website – which last month reached a record traffic level – while nearly 30% make group bookings.

ClubstoHire recently extended its service to the popular Myrtle Beach resort in South Carolina, USA, enabling the fast-growing company to offer golf club rental sets at 26 destinations in 12 countries worldwide.
