The first Golf Datatech National Golf Rounds Played report for 2002 shows a 5.8% increase in rounds played in January 2002, compared to the same month in 2001. The largest increases come in regions that have been experiencing abnormally mild winters.
New England showed the largest January increase and other large increases came in the Middle Atlantic, East North Central and West North Central regions. Rounds played in Florida, however, were virtually unchanged in January.
The report is produced in part with the cooperation of the National Golf Course Owners Association.
