Royal Dornoch Golf Club has revamped its websites for the launch of 400 Years of Golf in Dornoch with a new look and responsive designs for tablets and mobiles.
The Royal Dornoch Tartan is the core of the new layout and design across all three of the Club’s new websites:
www.royaldornoch.com is the main site, with information on the courses, the Club and Clubhouse, as well as online booking for visitors and members.
The Royal Dornoch Tartan site was launched worldwide in September this year with online sales through www.royaldornochtartan.com already reaching will into five figures.
The third site – www.dornoch400.com – was developed in collaboration with local communities to create a website that links Royal Dornoch with other clubs, organisations and people in the area.
The new Royal Dornoch sites have been developed to allow the heritage of the club to be celebrated and enhanced, by integrating new technologies such as Apps, Embedded Videos and the growing number of Social Media platforms, with the standard features of Online Booking and Visitor Information. As more people use tablets and smartphones to access the Internet, it is important that the new websites allow users to find information, make bookings, and interact online with the Club in formats and on devices that meet their needs.
It has been an important year for Royal Dornoch as it moves towards celebrating the beginnings of golf in Dornoch, recognising the value of golf to Sutherland and the Scottish Highlands as an important facet of the local economy, and by ensuring that the Club, town and its businesses can continue to meet the expectations of world visitors.
Cheryl Hopkins of The Cheryl Hopkins Consultancy Ltd commented: “We have worked closely with Royal Dornoch for many years helping create and develop its online presence via the Royal Dornoch website and online booking facilities.
“This year saw the creation of three new websites to further promote the Club’s brand image and to extend its new tartan to a global audience via the new online shop. We wish Dornoch and Royal Dornoch a superb 2016 celebrating 400 years of golf in Dornoch.”
