One of the highlights of the Irish sporting calendar each year is the “Excellence in Sports Awards” which is a significant fundraising event run by the Irish Youth Foundation. The “27th Excellence in Sports Awards” will take place on Monday 7th December 2015 in the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Dublin.

President Michael D Higgins is the Patron of the Irish Youth Foundation and Pádraig Harrington is the Ambassador of this event which will have in attendance Ireland’s leading sporting personalities from rugby, GAA, golf, soccer, boxing, horseracing, track and field and rowing amongst other sports, all who will be recognised on the night for their achievements in Irish and international sport this year.

The Irish Youth Foundation are delighted to announce a new partnership with Golf Digest Ireland, the No.1 golf magazine in Ireland as the “Official Media Partner” of the “27th Excellence in Sports Awards”.

Speaking about the new partnership Ireland’s three time major winner and event Ambassador Padraig Harrington said: “I am delighted to welcome the support of Golf Digest Ireland, as the “Official Media Partner” of the 27th Excellence in Sports Awards. Golf Digest is one of the leading golf magazines in Ireland, both in amateur and professional golf, so today’s announcement of their support for this event is great news, helping to raise awareness of the valuable work of the Irish Youth Foundation who make a real and positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around Ireland”

Managing Director and Editor in Chief of Golf Digest Ireland, Linton Walsh, said: “We are delighted to announce our support for the “27th Excellence in Sports Awards” and the Irish Youth Foundation. This event is a significant fundraiser for the Irish Youth Foundation who raise funds and award grants that give support to various projects that help improve the lives of children and young disadvantaged Irish people in the UK and Northern Ireland.

The Irish Youth Foundation has donated over £4 million to projects to date and is the only national charity in Ireland and the United Kingdom specifically aimed at helping young Irish people.

The Irish Youth Foundation supports a wide range of organisations and community groups providing help to disadvantaged young Irish adults and children to lead a more integrated and fulfilling life.
