CMAE’s latest Management Development Programme (MDP) Part 2 was a roaring success for the London and Home Counties (L & HC) region of CMAE in Bournemouth.
Fifteen delegates from golf and city clubs enjoyed presentations by leading educators, including Bill Sanderson (Leadership), Helen Bennett (Team roles) Kevin Fish (Strategic planning) and Darshan Singh (Time Management and Communication). Delegates also worked in teams on a case study problem solving exercise throughout the 5 day course.
MDP Part 2 is the second part of the European recognised Club Management Diploma, awarded to delegates who successfully complete the executive case study set during the week of MDP 2, pass the end of week exam together with a work based assignment where they take on a problem at their club and resolve it by applying key learnings from the MDP curriculum.
Launched in 2011 the highly regarded MDP pathway has been promoted and courses held throughout the UK and Europe. The programme delivers top class education to club managers and senior staff on all 10 Core competencies of modern club management.
This latest week long course was underwritten and hosted by the London and Home Counties (L & HC) region of CMAE that firmly believes progressive CPD will contribute to the continuing growth and development of clubs in their region.
L & HC Chairman, David Balden, said: “We are delighted by the success of the MDP to date. We ran our first Part One course just over two years ago and followed it up with Part Two last November. This week was well subscribed due to the quality of the education along with the exceptional testimonies provided by our previous delegates; we are already taking bookings for our next MDP Part 1 Course which is scheduled for January, and will be held in Warwick University, a new location for us. Our thanks go to Circle Golf without whose valued support these courses would not be possible”
The MDP pathway was originally developed by the Club Managers Association of America and thanks to their vision and generosity has been given to CMAE who have adapted the materials for the European Golf, Sports and City Club Markets.
