Milton Keynes Council and 1Life Leisure Management Solutions have formed a brand new partnership, following the Council’s decision to award its leisure management contract to this forward-thinking company.
The 10 year contract will mean 1Life takes over the responsibility for operating Woughton Leisure Centre, Windmill Hill Golf Centre, Woughton-on-the-Green Playing Fields, Brooklands Community Sports Pavilion and Broughton Community Sports Pavilion.
1Life presented innovative facility development plans and exciting programmes for new and existing activities for all five venues, investing over £1.5 million in total. The proposals will enable each Centre to provide new services for their local communities and help everyone achieve a healthier lifestyle, whilst also delivering excellent customer service.
The staff at each Centre will transfer to become new 1Life employees, maintaining the same employment terms. Moreover, with the expansion plans 1Life have set out, there will be new employment opportunities for full time, part time and apprenticeship staff, as well as a programme of comprehensive training and development to deliver.
At Woughton Leisure Centre, 1Life will create a Group Exercise Centre of Excellence, with new equipment, new health & wellbeing classes and dedicated cycling classes. Also the junior & holiday activity programme will be expanded and other general refurbishments to reception, cafe and changing rooms will take place.
At Windmill Hill Golf Centre, 1Life will convert the boxing gym into a Milon Circuit facility with brand new electronic circuit equipment which is simple, safe and provides effective total body training for all types of users. With some upgrades to the food and beverage areas, 1Life will build on the already busy and growing events and functions.
At Woughton on the Green Playing Fields & Pavilion, 1Life want to strengthen relationships and build on sports club usage of the facility. A new advanced training facility which will contain functional training equipment and accessories will be added.
In the community hubs of Brooklands and Broughton significant focus will be place on implementing and delivering extensive programmes of activity and reaching operational excellence.
