adidas golf footwear has gained fantastic momentum in 2015. The introduction of BOOST™ technology has revolutionised the footwear category due to the exceptional comfort and visibility on both the PGA and European Tours. Since BOOST™ technology came to golf, it’s helped the likes of Dustin Johnson, Brandt Snedeker, Richie Ramsay and 5-time 2015 winner Jason Day to victories around the world.
A prominent figure throughout the season, Day ascended to the pinnacle of the sport in 2015, gracing the World #1 spot after winning the BMW Championship in the FedEx Playoffs. A full adidas Golf athlete, Day has been particularly passionate about the BOA technology in his BOOST™ footwear, going as far as to request the same technology in running shoes for himself and his family.
The Tour dominance experienced in 2015 has translated into retail success with a UK market share increase of 66%* between January and August 2015. Better news still for trade partners as there has been an average sales price rise of 13% versus the previous year. This comes in large part from an increase of over 1000% in sales of footwear over £100 which has helped retailers make a greater margin on each sale.
This success though, has not been strictly limited to the BOOST™ line up. Other models such as the adicross gripmore and adicross IV continue to be amongst the most popular spikeless options in the industry, perfect for Summer conditions. These spikeless shoes are also trusted by Justin Rose and Jim Furyk, two of the four athletes wearing adidas footwear inside the Official World Golf Rankings Top 10.
