The Grove, London’s five-star golf resort, has responded to the growing momentum around women’s golf in the UK by providing female golfers with the opportunity to take part in its first ever Ladies Open.

Taking place on October 20, 2015, the inaugural ladies event will be a betterball pairs competition, open to any female golfer from across the UK with an official LGU handicap of 36 or below. Prizes will be awarded to the top three pairs, along with nearest the pin, longest drive and to the winning individual score on the day.

Sponsored by TaylorMade, Natura Bisse, Chervo, Molson Coors and Women & Golf magazine, the winning team will each enjoy a one-night stay for two people at The Grove and a Chervo voucher.

The Grove hosts some of the UK’s leading amateur open golf tournaments, including its annual ‘Back on Black’ series, which provides entrants with the opportunity to experience the course as it was set up for the 2006 WGC-American Express Championship, won by Tiger Woods.

Anna Darnell, Director of Golf at The Grove, said: “There continues to be real impetus around encouraging more women and girls to take up golf. The relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere of The Grove means we are ideally suited to meet the requirements of female golfers and get them more involved in the game.

“Our award-winning hospitality and previous experience of holding open amateur competitions will help ensure all of the entrants taking part in our first Ladies Open, will enjoy a truly memorable day.”

The 18-hole course at The Grove was designed by world-renowned architect Kyle Phillips and continues to be acknowledged in many influential Top 100 rankings lists, including those produced by Golf Monthly and Golf World magazines, as well as influential Top100golfcourses.co.uk website.

The resort, located less than 25 miles north-west of central London, also features a luxury hotel and spa, with 26 bedrooms in the historic, Grade II listed mansion house and 191 spacious, stylish rooms in the contemporary West Wing.

Entry fee: £160 per pair, including refreshments before the round, two-course lunch and a gift bag containing a Chervo purse and shopper bag, golf balls, Natura Bisse cosmetics and the latest issue of Women & Golf magazine. Date: October 20, 2015
