Matrix Golf, a social media firm authorized to represent the patented Matrix Golf Methodology™, US Patent No 6,571,143, has introduced the ‘FACEBOOK OF GOLF’; a patented golf app methodology created to allow golfers around the world to connect, compare and compete on a level playing field.
The United States Golf Association recently announced that China, potentially golf’s most dynamic growth region, has adopted the USGA Handicap System and Course Rating System, achieving global consistency in course rating specifications.
“My vision is to encourage United States golfers to connect with golfers around the world, enhance sportsmanship and improve international relations,” said James Mallamo, Founder and CEO of Matrix Golf.
The USGA has authorized and licensed the USGA Course Rating System™ to nearly sixty (60) countries around the globe including China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, and Korea.
The patented Matrix Golf Methodology™ adheres to the USGA Rating System™, e.g., takes into consideration the relative playing difficulty of a course for a scratch golfer, normalizes the USGA Course Ratings™ and considers weather conditions, allowing golfers around the globe to compare scores and compete in challenges on a level playing field.
Conversely, in a Position Paper the USGA states: “Par is of little relevance in the Handicap System and is a terrible indicator of predicting score. For example, one course may be 5500 yards long and have a par of 72 and another may be 7200 yards long and have a par of 72. It is highly unlikely that scores on these two courses would be equal for any level of golfer.”
The Matrix Golf app methodology is compatible with Stableford, Pinehurst, Callaway and Scramble formats, team and individual competitions, gross and net scores; longest drive contests, hole-in-one contests, closest-to-the-pin contests, and skills challenges.
The FACEBOOK OF GOLF allows participants to communicate with each other via social network chats, video chats, email, and real-time language translation software.
