PRG is a bespoke golf accessory company, which has captured an enviable percentage of the market since launching its first golf accessory range a mere seven years ago. Word has quickly spread about the quality and breadth of PRG’s range, leading to an ever-growing client base that includes many of the UK and Ireland’s very finest golfing establishments.
PRG’s all-encompassing range of branded golf accessories – from ball-markers, headcovers and towels to shoe bags, hats and much more besides – has caught the eye of many of the game’s top clubs and resorts, all eager to provide their members with the perfect badge of belonging, and their visitors with the ideal memento of their round.
Among the recent big-name clubs to turn to PRG is a famous Scottish club at the oldest end of the golf club age spectrum – Royal Dornoch in the Highlands, where golf will have been played for 400 years come 2016. To celebrate this truly momentous occasion, the club commissioned a special official tartan last year, designed by Frasier Waters via a local schools project, which now proudly boasts reference number 10968 on The Scottish Register of Tartans. The new tartan seeks to perfectly encapsulate the town’s two fine links courses and surrounding landscape: “Through flowing greens, the reflective blues of the sky and firth, yellow gorse in full flower that drifts along the length of the links, the Tartan encapsulates the natural beauty and warmth of welcome that Dornoch is renowned for.”
The famous club is planning a series of events to mark 400 years of golf over the links, and has called on PRG to create an exclusive range of accessories featuring its striking new tartan to mark this momentous milestone. Dornoch has long been attracting golfing pilgrims to its centuries-old links – refined by Old Tom Morris in the late 19th century – among them keen golf historians Tom Watson and Ben Crenshaw. Now all who visit next year will be able to treat themselves from a stunning collection of accessories, ranging from blade and mallet putter covers, to executive headcovers, PomPom headcovers and tote bags all in the new tartan and embroidered with the inscription: “400 years of golf in Dornoch – 1616-2016.” Meanwhile, club members will also be treated to limited edition bag tags in the same Royal Dornoch tartan design
“We are proud to be supplying one of Scotland’s most revered links with an exclusive range of accessories in its major milestone year,” says PRG director, Kevin Funnell. “The fact that Dornoch has venerable links many centuries old is testament to the ageless appeal of the accessories we are able to create. Whatever the occasion or age of a club, we are confident that we can supply accessories that will serve as a cherished memento of any visit. We look forward to working with many more such clubs in the months and years ahead.”
