The second of the Charterhouse Interaction Days, held in association with their dealer Lister Wilder, took place at Canterbury Golf Club. The event was supported by Rigby Taylor and saw over 40 people treated to a series of educational lectures and product demonstrations.
Following on from a similar day at Worplesdon Golf Club, Grounds professionals from a broad spectrum of organisations were welcomed by Nick Darking of Charterhouse. Presentations on ‘Graden Organic Matter Reduction’ and ‘Seed for Golf Green and Profile Granules’ were delivered by the STRI and Rigby Taylor respectively. Proceedings then moved outdoors with a series of demonstrations of machines from the Graden portfolio, as well as the Redexim Speedbrush, Core Collector, Overseeder and VertiDrain. Back inside, James Webster delivered a talk on ‘ecological and habitat management’, and Billy McMillan closed the day with a discussion on ‘today’s challenges’.
One of the attendees, Sean Towey, Southern Regional Manager at G Burley & Sons Ltd said of the day, “It’s been terrific. I found the presentations and demonstrations invaluable, both as refreshers to my knowledge but also keeping me in tune with the latest innovations and industry best practice.”
Rob Baker, Parks Technical at Basildon District Council, found the day “of huge benefit, topped off by the great location. I came away seeing where a couple of pieces of kit would really be of use for our bowls green.”
