TGI Golf’s successful annual golf days saw a record turnout of more than 350 golfers taking part in five events over some of the UK and Ireland’s best courses.
The five events, which took place throughout May, brought together Partners of TGI Golf – golf’s leading retail services group, owned by PGA Professionals – their amateur guests and leading figures from the industry.
Two events where held in England and Scotland at Donnington Grove and Notts (Hollinwell) and Lanark and Glenbervie respectively, while Warrenpoint Golf Club hosted the Irish Golf Day.
As well as enjoying a great day’s golfing Partners and guests were kind-hearted enough to raise thousands of pounds for charity. Attendees at Notts (Hollinwell) raised £585 for the Nepal Earthquake Appeal, while those present at the remaining golf days dug deep to raise £2,109 for TGI Golf’s chosen charity Make-A-Wish.
Adele McLean, TGI Golf Group Services Manager, who orchestrated the events, said: “These days provide a great opportunity for our Partners and their guests to mix with our Partner Suppliers in an informal and relaxed environment.
“Every year the popularity of these events increases, and this year we added an additional date in Scotland to meet demand. This year the prizes donated by our Partner Suppliers were extraordinary, we are extremely grateful to them as always.”
Wicklow Pro Enda McLoughlin and guest Ollie McLoughlin along with Masserene Pro David Hughes and his guest Noel Murray won the first event at Warrenpoint, Co Down.
Father and daughter duo Warren (Cleckheaton GC) and Megan Lockett along with Nike’s Mark Lawrence and Ian Martin claimed the top spot at Notts (Hollinwell), while Scotscraig PGA Pro Craig Mackie’s team of Chris Barnard, Drew Parsons from Wilson and Chris Todd topped the leaderboard at Glenbervie.
At the second Scottish Golf Day staged at Lanark it was David Orr’s (Eastwood GC) team that walked away with the top prizes. He was joined by guest Craig Paterson, Gregor Munro from TaylorMade-adidas Golf and Paul Hay.
Finally, at a warm and sunny Donnington Grove, the winners were Alistair Welsher (Tiverton), Neil Carthew, Richard Maunder (ProShop Europe Magazine) and Matt Millard.
