John Letters enjoyed a hugely successful Scottish Golf Show last weekend, recording record sales in its fifth successive visit and taking more money than at any previous show.
The historic brand, which has been producing clubs for nearly a century, was a magnet for serious golfers, completing three times the number of sales transactions during the three-day event in Edinburgh.
The stand, the biggest manufacturer stand at the show, was offering putters, wedges and hybrids from just £10 in exclusive show deals. But, to the delight of the brand’s product development engineer, James Graham, it wasn’t only the bargain deals which proved popular, with the latest product lines – currently available in-store and on-line – also in much demand.
He explained: “We had a wide spectrum of product on show, with particular focus on the TR47 club range and the pioneering new TR47 Premium Combination glove, which also proved hugely popular with visitors. Indeed, we had to restock the gloves after the first day as we were a little conservative when it came to estimating its popularity.
“As a Scottish brand we are always proud to be at the country’s national golf show. What’s more, visitors to the show are traditionally ‘proper’ golfers. They know the game and they know what they’re looking for at the show. They’re up for a bit of fun and games but they’re also always on the lookout for something to help their game.”
