PowaKaddy has strengthened its sales team in time for the beginning of the 2015 golf season with the appointment of former PGA Professional Rob Purvey as Area Sales Manager (ASM) for UK South.
Purvey, who was previously a Retailer/Service Agent for PowaKaddy, has spent nearly 22 years working golf, representing industry-leading brands in various sectors and brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
Having also spent time as a golf shop owner, Purvey is well placed to meet the needs of the retailer in the role of ASM. On his new appointment, the Studley Wood member said: “Because I have worked in sales and run my own golf shops, I am able to see both sides of the business, which is something I am excited about bringing to this role.
“I like to treat people how I want to be treated myself; no one likes an aggressive sales rep. I want to help my customers grow their businesses, gain their trust and assist them in any way I can.
“My main immediate goal is to try and visit everyone in my area, as I think it’s important for people to be able to put a face to a name. In the longer term, I want to help maintain PowaKaddy’s position as a market leader.”
In the immediate term, Purvey will focus upon servicing existing and new stockists to grow distribution in a key sales territory for PowaKaddy. His area of interest covers the South of England from Kent to Cornwall and also includes the brand’s stockists in South Wales.
