adidas Golf is proud to continue its official partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support for the Longest Day Golf Challenge 2015, for the third year running.
The Longest Day Golf Challenge asks golfers of all ages and abilities to take on 72 holes of golf in one day and help raise money for people affected by cancer. Macmillan provides invaluable therapists, nurses, benefits advisors, and support line workers who make sure people living with cancer have the best team in their corner and no one has to face cancer alone.
“We are incredibly proud and excited to continue our partnership with Macmillan for the Longest Day Golf Challenge”, commented Greg Pearse, Marketing Director adidas Golf EMEA. “We want to work in partnership with our customers and media connections to ensure we create as much awareness as possible to ensure a record number of teams sign up in 2015. It’s a fantastic opportunity for golfers across the UK to unite behind a great initiative and raise lots of money for this incredible charity”.
Macmillan Cancer Support and adidas Golf are calling on golf enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to play four rounds of golf on Sunday 21st June (or another date of their choosing between April and August) in order to help raise money for people affected by cancer.
Taking part couldn’t be easier – golfers simply register at www.macmillan.org.uk/longestday get a team of up to four people together and ask friends and family for sponsorship.
To add to the excitement, the top four teams that complete the challenge will be flown over to Portugal to compete for the coveted 2015 Longest Day Challenge Cup at the Boavista Resort.
As well as taking part in the event, adidas Golf have designed a Macmillan limited edition version of its adipower boost footwear, that launched in February 2015. adidas boost technology is designed to deliver maximum energy return, responsiveness and unparalleled comfort. The boost cushioning is comprised of thousands of TPU energy capsules fused together. While traditional EVA foam hardens and softens when temperatures fluctuate, boost foam retains consistent cushioning in all conditions, to create the most comfortable shoe in adidas Golf history.
Five pairs of the shoes are up for grabs for golfers www.macmillan.org.uk/longestday
In 2014, over 4000 golfers took part in the Longest Day Golf challenge and raised more than £750,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This year the aim is to smash this total to continue to help Macmillan support people affected by cancer and ensure no one faces cancer alone. What better way to fundraise for a worthy cause than by spending a summer day on the golf course?
