The AIRE II (RRP £129.95), available in the UK from November 2014, is a significant upgrade to SkyCaddie’s entry-level no-fees GPS distance measuring device for golfers.

The ready-to-play AIRE II now shows dynamic distances which reflect your angle of approach, while offering pre-loaded Front-Centre-Back green distance information for 35,000 exclusive SkyCaddie worldwide golf course maps, all created and surveyed on foot. Quarterly updates ensure that AIRE II customers have information on the latest course changes.

With no extra fees payable, AIRE II also shows two pre-defined Target Points per hole for every pre-loaded course – a Fairway Target which is a recommended aiming point for the hole, and a LayUp Zone, which is a safe landing area generally about 120 yards from the centre of the green

Large, easy-to-read numbers fill the brightly-lit 1.8” sunlight-readable greyscale display, and intelligent automation means that AIRE II recognises not only which course you are playing, but also which hole, without any button-pressing.

With a digital scorecard function capable of storing up to 20 rounds, Shot Distance measurement function, fitness functions such as odometer, calorie counter and distance tracker, plus watch functions including pace-of-play timer and stopwatch, the compact AIRE II is truly features-packed “out of the box”.

AIRE II also adds upgradeability for the first time, with SkyCaddie members now able to enhance their AIRE II with access to SkyCaddie’s revolutionary IntelliGreen feature, which provides actual green shape from your angle of approach, plus adjustable pin targeting giving precise distances to the hole.

The upgrade to SkyCaddie membership also gives AIRE II customers the ability to download the latest ground-mapped golf course amendments at any time, rather than waiting for the quarterly updates.

The upgrade also unlocks SkyCaddie’s full TrueGround Target List for each course, with up to 40 hazards, carries and suggested layup points per hole. Membership also enables golfers to join the SkyGolf 360™ online community, for the most comprehensive post-round analysis in the game plus interaction with other SkyCaddie members.

The original AIRE, which made its debut in 2013, gave golfers a low-cost, no-frills way to access SkyCaddie’s industry-benchmark, error-corrected golf course maps, and was one of the most popular golf GPS devices of recent years.

“The AIRE II contains all we know about golf course distance measurement in a tiny, ultra-light package” said Jacqui Surman, SkyCaddie Vice President of International Sales & Marketing. “It condenses a quarter of a million hours of exclusive SkyCaddie course mapping into a truly pocket-sized rechargeable unit with great battery life and the simplest possible display. If all you want is a quick glance at golf’s most accurate GPS numbers, the AIRE II is perfect for you.”

The IPX6 water-resistant AIRE II can be clipped to a belt or a golf trolley, or can hang from your golf bag. Its rechargeable lithium battery powers the device for up to 10 hours between charges. Available from all good pro shops now, the AIRE II sells for £129.95. See www.skycaddie.co.uk for stockist information.
