Logicalgolf founder and international coach Robert Baker paid a special visit to PGA headquarters at The Belfry to install the revolutionary training system into its state of the art gym.
The Munich-based company, which launched earlier this year, has become a PGA Official Supplier and Baker, along with CEO Patrick Wolferstätter, met the PGA Training Academy’s sports science staff to showcase the equipment.
Baker, who coached Ernie Els when he was World No.1, has utilised 30 years of experience in golf to develop a series of training aids and a Gym Solutions package which enables golfers to work on conditioning and specific muscle memory during the swing training session.
The PGA Academy’s sports science team will receive training in the system which coaches can employ in their teaching irrespective of coaching method.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be a PGA Official Supplier,” said Baker. “We couldn’t have wished for a better start than to than to be associated with The PGA, which is respected throughout the world from China to America. It’s ‘The’ PGA from 1901 so we are completely thrilled.”
Logicalgolf Gym Solutions enables golfers to use innovative training aids in the gym to complement classic golf lessons and are based on both subconscious and motor learning.
The aim is to provide awareness of the perfect golf swing through motor skills learning, and then to anchor this firmly in the golfer’s memory.
Dr Kyle Phillpots, The PGA’s director of education and career development, added: “We are delighted Logicalgolf has joined the PGA Official Supplier programme and to have the training system installed in the academy’s gym.
“Robert is passionate about golf coaching and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise that is reflected in the Logicalgolf training system and it was great to see up close just how it can be utilised in the coaching process.”
