The recent prolonged dry weather for much of the country has given greenkeepers and turf managers a welcome respite in disease pressure. But the humid autumnal mornings now being experienced will see Fusarium risk rising.
As turf growth slows in the cooler conditions, they are being recommended to now switch to a faster uptake systemic in Banner MAXX, to stop infection taking hold and ensuring turf is continuously protected, even after repeated cutting.
For optimum disease control, turf managers should log on to www.greencast.co.uk or www.greencast.ie and track their local disease risk – waiting until the disease risk increases and then proactively applying Banner MAXX once spores are likely to have landed on the leaf, but before there are any visible signs of infection. This has been shown to give the best results in protecting turf quality from the minimal number of fungicide applications over the course of the season.
