Scottish golf course construction company Greenmakers by Nelson&Vecchio has signed a contract with Golf Club Föhr in Germany for construction of 12 new holes to replace some of the older holes on the course. The golf course is a 27-hole facility situated on the island of Föhr in the North Sea close to the border of Denmark. The remodelling of the course has been designed by Christian Althaus of Althaus Golfdesign.
“The Golf Course is built on top of sand and on the higher part of the golf course the sand meets the USGA greens specifications, so it’s a great foundation for us to create something very special here. We will also be building a new irrigation lake that will help the club better manage their water consumption, as well as installing new irrigation pumps”, explains David Nelson, Managing Director of Nelson&Vecchio Ltd.

The work started in January 2014 and is scheduled to be completed by August 2014.
