Jacobsen, the turf maintenance equipment manufacturer based in Charlotte, North Carolina and sister company of Ransomes Jacobsen in Ipswich, has acquired the assets of Dixie Chopper®, the manufacturer of zero-turn radius mowers for the commercial and residential markets, based in Coatesville, Indiana. Jacobsen and Ransomes Jacobsen are Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) companies.
Known as ‘The World’s Fastest Lawn Mower®’, Dixie Chopper mowers are capable of mowing up to 2.7 hectares per hour. The company manufactures eleven models of zero-turn mowers, from the residential Zee 2 with a 21 HP Kawasaki engine and 1.07 metre (42”) deck to the industrial category XCaliber Twin with two 27 HP Generac® engines and a 1.88 metre (74”) deck.

Jacobsen will continue to operate Dixie Chopper out of the company’s Indiana facilities and its existing management team will join Jacobsen. Product are currently available in the North American markets and will be available to Ransomes Jacobsen’s international dealer network in the near future.
