R&A Launch ‘Working For Golf’ Film 2013

R&A Working for golf logoThe ‘Working for Golf’ 2013 Film will be broadcast on Sky Sports over the New Year holiday period.

The film looks back at a successful Open Championship at Muirfield and explores how The R&A invests the revenues generated in supporting the growth of the game around the world.

The 30-minute show features contributions from The R&A’s Working for Golf Ambassadors Padraig Harrington and Suzann Pettersen and interviews Liang Wen-Chong who has taken on a similar role in China and the Far East.

The film looks at the ways in which The R&A has supported a project to develop golf in Ghana, led by 2014 European Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley.

Matthew Fitzpatrick gives an interview about his excellent year in winning the Silver Medal at The Open, the US Amateur and the McCormack Medal as the leading men’s amateur player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Elsewhere, the film looks back at the launch of The Open Qualifying Series and major Rules announcements on anchoring and the use of TV evidence in the game.

The R&A is committed to working for golf and supports the growth of the game internationally and the development and management of sustainable golf facilities. The R&A operates with the consent of 149 organisations from the amateur and professional game and on behalf of over thirty million golfers in 135 countries.
