Now is the time to nominate those heroes of grass roots junior golf or high achieving projects for the prestigious Golf Foundation Presidents’ Awards.

The leading golf charity is in a unique position to recognise the individuals, groups and organisations who deserve special acclaim for helping young people to find their way in the game.

The Presidents’ Awards are staged in May 2014 at Wentworth on the eve of the BMW PGA Championship. Held courtesy of one of the Foundation’s chief supporters, The European Tour, and Wentworth Club, this is a glittering occasion worthy of celebrating the great efforts of an inspirational group of people.

Volunteers of all ages, PGA professionals, teachers, sports development workers, administrators, sport partnerships and local authorities are among those who can be nominated for one of the eight awards; four for individuals and four for projects. The most prestigious is the ‘Sir Henry Cotton Award’ which is for outstanding service in the development of young golfers over a sustained period of time.

The closing date for nominations is 31 January, 2014, and anyone can take part in this process. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the ‘Presidents’ Awards’ page on www.golf-foundation.org

Mike Round, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said: “This is a unique opportunity for all who are closely associated with junior golf to recognise the dedication and passion that our award winners show in helping young people from all backgrounds and abilities to find a good start in golf. I am sure we will once again receive some outstanding nominations.”

The closing date for nominations is 31 January, 2014.
