The Asian Golf Industry Federation is pleased to welcome its latest Supporting Member -the Golf Environment Organization or commonly known as GEO, on board the Federation.
GEO is an international not-for-profit organisation dedicating to help the golf industry in sustainability efforts. Jonathan Smith, GEO’s Chief Executive, who will also be serving on the AGIF Environment Committee, said, “From development of new facilities to the operation of courses, AGIF members are in a position to lead the industry growth on a more sustainable and profitable path. We’re excited to work together with AGIF, and members, to help realise this opportunity.”
Tim Trinka, President of the AGIF, was pleased to have yet another industry partner in GEO. He said, “The AGIF believes the reciprocity with GEO will be one that is mutually beneficial and will help drive home the message of sustainable golf development in Asia.”
With a practical and positive approach, GEO provides programs that guide and reward credible actions in golf management, development and tournaments. Clubs can start with OnCourse™, a straightforward web-based program that helps clubs assess and record sustainability considerations, improve where they can, and then leads to GEO Certified™, golf’s international ecolabel administered by GEO.
