Telecom Capital announce the sponsorship of Englishman and European Tour golfer, David Howell. As part of the agreement, Howell will wear the Telecom Capital logo on his golf shirt at all events he participates in this year, beginning at the BMW PGA Championship. David will also make personal appearances for his new sponsor.

Telecom Capital, the international Telecom financing specialists based in Mayfair London, will be out in force to support David as he wears the corporate logo for the first time at Wentworth this Thursday. The popular Englishman, who won the European Tour’s flagship event in 2006, has had a return to form in the past year that includes three top ten finishes.

“Being sponsored by Telecom Capital is fantastic,” said David Howell. “I have known the team at Telecom Capital for a while and it is the kind of quality organisation that any professional athlete would be happy to partner with.”

Victory this year has so far eluded Howell, 37, however, with a new sponsor and recent results, Howell feels he could challenge once again for the title this week.

“I’ve been playing really well recently and over the last year have played my most consistent golf since 2006, when I won the BMW PGA Championship. I feel I’m due a bit of luck on a Sunday and there would be nowhere better to do it than at Wentworth this week.”

Mark Edworthy, Managing Partner at Telecom Capital commented, “We’re delighted to sponsor David. Telecom Capital is all about providing capital to allow our clients to take advantage of the huge growth opportunities in the worldwide telecoms market. Hopefully our sponsorship of David will give him an added boost here at Wentworth  and in events around the world.”

“David’s success in the game and on-going pursuit of excellence is a perfect fit with our own approach to business,” said Edworthy.

Two-time Ryder cup winner Howell was on hand to launch the BMW PGA Championship in central London last week. Howell’s appearance helped build anticipation for the BMW PGA Championship, which gets underway today at Wentworth Club in Surrey and boasts a strong field comprising all 12 of Europe’s Ryder Cup stars.
