Braemar Golf managed facility Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club, Oman, played host to a group of golf tour operators who were on an Oman Ministry of Tourism familiarisation visit. The group played the three grass golf courses in Muscat; GhallaValley, Al Mouj and Muscat Hills. They were hosted by the Ritz Al Bustan Palace Hotel and were flown over courtesy of Oman Air.
Michael Braidwood Operations Director of Braemar Golf who joined the group for their visit to Muscat Hills said “we were delighted to receive this important group at Muscat Hills. Inbound tourists are essential to the success and sustainability of golf in Oman. The response from the tour operators who visited our club was very encouraging for both Muscat Hills and Golf as a whole in Oman.”
Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club is Oman’s first 18 hole championship golf course. Designed by Paul Thomas and opened in 2009, the stunning golf course has been crafted through rocky terrain and has numerous dramatic wadis (dry river beds) running through it. The wadis give the golf course two challenging par 3 holes which are played directly across them. The course is generous off the tee, with wide lush fairways and with a choice of 5 teeing grounds per hole the course sets up for all standard of golfer.
Situated just 10 minutes from Oman’s InternationalAirport and in the new business district of Seeb, Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club is well catered to look after the inbound tourist and local corporate markets. Surrounded by luxury villas and apartments, Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club looks set to be the premier address in Oman.
Oman’s second grass course Al Mouj, a Greg Norman design, opened in 2012 and GhallaValley is a recent addition following its upgrade from an existing sand course.
