GolfSwitch’s expansion is to provide golfers and partners worldwide with golf in the sun continues with now most Moroccan courses available through the GolfSwitch network.
Morocco has come on leaps and bounds over the past few years with the addition of many quality golf courses in already iconic tourist destinations like Agadir and Marrakech.
Renowned golf architects like Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Kyle Phylips and Robert Trent Jones have all added to the Moroccan golf offering. The Royal Family have also been firm supporters of the golf industry and have continued to develop the Hassan II Trophy on the European Tour and the Coupe Laly Meryem on the Ladies European Tour which have now become established and very popular tournaments. All this has made Morocco an excellent alternative to more traditional sunshine destinations.
GolfSwitch has joined up with Premium Leisure Events and Menara Travel to develop the Moroccan tee time business and provide golfers worldwide with inventory on Moroccan golf courses. The first batch of courses are centered around Agadir and Marrakech where golf tourism is rapidly developing.
Mohamed Fakir, Managing Director Premium Leisure Events: “Ever since I learned about GolfSwitch it was my goal to get the Moroccan tee time inventory included in their system. Facilitating online bookings is the next step to opening up Morocco as a real golf tourism destination as it offers golfers worldwide access to tee times on all Moroccan courses. It takes away a lot of hassle for the golfer who wants to experience something different but still has reservations to book in a foreign country. I can not see anything but advantages of having the available inventory available on a worldwide platform.”
Jo Maes, Managing Director GolfSwitch International Ltd added: “As we are getting more and more traction in peripheral destinations, GolfSwitch continues to grow and keeps adding more courses to the network. This is good news for the golfer, who will be able to make up his own mind as to where he wants to play but it’s also good news for our resellers and partners. Having more available inventory to book will give them quicker access to tee times so they will have an edge over their competitors when they can quote their clients quicker.”
Allowing golfers to book online through the club’s own website is one thing but allowing travel partners, tour operators and other resellers to access these rounds online is probably equally as important. GolfSwitch has the network and the worldwide consensus in the market is that online bookings will only grow as it did in the airline, hotel and rental car sectors.
The GolfSwitch network is therefore expanding worldwide with more courses realising that the future for their business is online, allowing golfers to book rounds, packages, golf passes, specials etc through a variety of online channels.”
The next big thing in managing available tee time inventory is Yield Management and GolfSwitch already has a tool operating in the market automating this. Golf courses start thinking the way airlines and hotels think pushing a variety of golfers to different times of the week depending on their expectations and demands. Yield Management allows a golf course to set the limits and depending on availability and demand, weather patterns, seasons, advance bookings etc green fee rates will be adjusted automatically to achieve targets the management needs to achieve to maximise revenue. Some of the courses using Yield Management have seen an immediate and substantial increase in green fee revenue
GolfSwitch has cemented itself as the world leader in online tee time technology and works very much with the courses allowing them to avail of engines that suit their needs. Our business integrity very much separates us from our competitors where we allow courses to dictate the green fee rate and availability shown.
Among the courses available on GolfSwitch are Al Maaden, Samanah, Palmeraie and Amelkis in Marrakech. Golf du Soleil, de l’Ocean, Les Dunes in Agadir, Golf Dar Es-Salam in Rabat and also Ouid Fes and Mogador amongst others.
