Paul Casey backs new Junior Organisers’ Handbook

Junior Organisers HandbookTour star Paul Casey has endorsed the latest edition of the England Golf Junior Organisers’ Handbook, which is now available for free download.

The reference guide helps clubs to encourage and promote junior golf and Casey comments: “I am delighted to support England Golf’s Junior Organisers’ Handbook and also their development work within golf clubs.

“With continued dedication from all involved, even more boys and girls will have the opportunity to take part in this great sport and they will hopefully be the future champions in years to come.”

The handbook underlines England Golf’s commitment to supporting junior golf. It is packed with information, ideas and advice to help clubs develop successful and thriving junior sections.

The guide also features examples of best practice. Case studies from around the country include:

England Golf Development Manager Richard Flint commented: “Golf clubs which invest in juniors are investing in their future and that of the game as a whole. We want to do all we can to support them and the Handbook is a complete reference guide for everyone involved in a junior section.”

The Handbook is just one of the initiatives and resources to support junior golf which have been developed by England Golf and the England Golf Partnership.

These include the GolfMark Award which recognises junior and beginner-friendly facilities and has now been achieved by over 600 clubs. The National Skills Challenge, supported by FootJoy, is designed to make practice fun – and over 6000 youngsters from almost 800 clubs are registered for 2013 activities.
