Donations at the recent DP World Tour Championship, Dubai generated US$50,000 for the Special Needs Future Development Centre, a Dubai-based centre for young adults with special needs which has been supported by the Tour Players’ Foundation since 2009.

The SNF Development Centre visited The European Tour’s final event of the 2012 season where, escorted by representatives of the European Tour Wives’ Association and Members of the Tour Players’ Foundation Trustees Board, some of the students and carers saw at first hand the donations being made.

Emma Stenson, TPF Trustee and member of the European Tour Wives’ Association, said: “We are delighted to be able to help the SNF Development Centre here inDubaionce again. To have been able to play a part in the expansion and development of such a great organisation has been hugely rewarding for the Tour Players’ Foundation and the ETWA. We hope the funds donated during the DP World Tour Championship continue to improve the remarkable service they provide.”

SNF Development Centre Director, Mrs Bari, added: “The Tour Players’ Foundation’s support over the past three years has meant a lot to SNF. Our students have benefitted from the enhanced facilities we have been able to provide them.

“We are greatly touched by the time given by the golfers and their partners to our students whenever they have visitedDubaifor a tournament, despite their busy schedules. We thank you all for your caring, and can only hope that the visible progress made by our students and SNF bears testimony to your wonderful support.”

SNF Development Centre is a local organisation which specialises in providing holistic support to young adults with special needs through personalised and professional care at their Development Centre, which is situated in the Al Karama area ofDubai.

The support of the Tour Players’ Foundation to date has contributed to the development and expansion of their centre, tripling the size of the facility in Al Karama, which in turn has enabled them to significantly increase the number of students in their care since it was founded in 2007.
