Ryder Cup 2014 venue Gleneagles will host a PGA Masterclass later this month for PGA professionals at PGA branded facilities.
Leading PGA professionals from across the UK and Europe will attend the day-long event at the luxury Scottish golf resort, home to the PGA Centenary Course which will stage the Ryder Cup in two year’s time, The PGA National Golf Academy and The PGA in Scotland.
The Masterclass will be led by PGA training executive for sport science Ben Langdown and PGA professional David Fulcher, the recent technical lead for golf coaching at The PGA.
During the course of the day, topics covered will include, junior programmes; physical screening; equipment; and business concepts, while there will also be a practical session for the pros at the PGA National Golf Academy.
The Masterclass has been put together for The PGA’s branded facilities to embrace the latest knowledge in teaching and business. Following the event, Gleneagles’ PGA professionals and fitness staff will also undergo instruction from Langdown and Fulcher.
PGA property and development executive Roger Butler, who has played a key role in bringing the Masterclass together, said: “It is crucial as individuals and professionals within the golf industry that we strive to increase and share our knowledge. Bringing together representatives from our PGA branded facilities will enable us to deliver the latest information to key members of the coaching staff, and ensure that these facilities continue to offer a first class visitor experience”.
Other PGA branded facilities across the world include the PGA Sultan Course at Antalya Golf Club, recent hosts to the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final and the Eisenhower Trophy, and the PGA Golf Academy at Bayhood No.9 in Beijing, China.
