Play Dundonald Links during Open Championship Week

7.22am 20th May 2009 - Travel

Dundonald Links has a limited number of tee times for golfers who want to play golf while attending this year’s Open Championship at Turnberry.

Green fees are available at £90 a round (£60 after 3.00pm) which represents excellent value for a game at an acclaimed links which last year became the first Scottish course to host Stage 1 of the European Tour’s annual Qualifying School and is also the regular venue for the prestigious Duke of York Young Champions Trophy.

Dundonald is less than a 45 minute drive from Turnberry and is likely to be extremely busy during the week starting July 13th as visitors flock to Ayrshire to watch the world’s leading golfers in action at the 138th Open Championship.

“Tee times have been selling fast but we’ve still got a limited number left to be sold on a first come, first served basis,” said Guy Redford, director of golf at Dundonald Links. “The way things are going all the tee times will be snapped up well before the start of Open week. It’s going to be a fantastic few days and a great opportunity for us to showcase what we believe is one of the finest modern links courses in the British Isles.

Dundonald Links, which is the sister course of Loch Lomond, was designed by Kyle Phillips, the acclaimed American architect, who was also responsible for the Kingsbarns Golf Links in Fife and The Grove in Hertfordshire.
