SFG is owned by the two entrepreneurs, Rob Millar and Paul Heming, and PowerPlay-Golf, founded by Peter McEvoy OBE the former Walker Cup and England Golf captain.
The SFG Challenge Tour provides a series of events in the UK for golfers with a handicap of under 10 to try and qualify for the SFG team, captained by Peter McEvoy, who will compete against a team of ex Ryder and Solheim Cup players at the SFG Challenge Tour Final.
Fittingly this Final will be held at the TwentyTen course at Celtic Manor on 27th – 28th October, with qualifying on 26th October.
Sponsorship of the SFG Tour will allow Srixon to promote the latest balls in their Z-Series line – The Z-STAR. These balls are designed to offer the improved distance, spin and feel that is preferred by Tour players and competitive golfers worldwide, by providing the best possible performance available in a 3 piece golf ball.
They are played by more than 250 Tour Pros internationally, including Henrik Stenson, Jim Furyk, Miguel Angel Jimenez and new signings Vijay Singh and Boo Weekley.
“The Z-Star range is aimed at the low and mid handicap golfer. Srixon has a serious growth strategy for their 3 piece balls and an involvement with SFG is a natural tie up as the company looks to get its products into the hands of good players,” said Leslie Hepsworth, CEO, Srixon Sports Europe
