One of England’s most captivating links courses, St Enodoc, is to play host alongside The Point golf course to the inaugural ‘Great Annual St Moritz Hotel Golf Tournament’ on 3-4 October.
Located a just a few long drives away from St Enodoc, Cornwall’s most stylish hotel welcomes hundreds of golfers on a regular basis so this year St Moritz’s owner and manager – both keen golfers – decided it was time to honour the tradition and create their own special club event.
In addition to lavish prizes, the event will be about stamina and teamwork for golfers of every level as well as leaving some time for improvement of their golfing skills.
There will be 3 categories of player (48 players in total and 16 in each category)
- Rookies – no handicap/play once or twice per year. Always wanted to take part in a tournament but always thought they were never good enough!
- Intermediate – 15 –24 handicap
- Advanced – up to 15 handicap
Over the two-day event, the club professionals at St Enodoc and The Point will oversee coaching and warm-up routines as well as the competition with the St Moritz team providing comfy beds, golfing treats, glistening trophies and some comedy to enjoy after the exertions on the golf course.
St Moritz Hotel Owner Hugh Ridgway says, “As we know, golf runs through the blood of lots of our guests and we can’t think of a better way to get them all together, learning and competing in a serious tournament with a light-hearted, St Moritz approach. We’ll have three categories of player; rookies, intermediate and advanced and they’ll all be in the relevant sections depending on their handicap.
“It’s set to be an amazing couple of days on two of the best courses in Cornwall, with sweeping views of the sea and some top quality pros on hand to help and encourage.”
The St Moritz Great Annual Golf Tournament costs from £290 for one night’s accommodation, breakfast, coffee, two rounds of golf plus 1.5 hours of instruction for the rookies, post-game clubhouse drinks, pre-dinner drinks, a full three-course dinner, golf comedian entertainment, breakfast and lunch on the second day.
Guests will be providing their own transport and clubs whilst partners are invited to stay at the hotel for an additional £95. Package costs for the different St Moritz Hotel rooms (including all additional golf tournament additions previously listed) are: Suite £365 (first floor suites allocated on first come first served basis), King £325 (with beach hut included), Cosy £290 (does what it says on the box.)
