Lynx Strengthens Line Up of TV Personalities

12.41am 31st July 2012 - Corporate

Sarah-Jane Mee

Sarah-Jane Mee is the latest in the line of television personalities to join the Lynx team responsible for the recent European comeback of the illustrious brand. Made famous in the 1990s by Fred Couples and Ernie Els, who claimed Major championships playing their clubs, Lynx has been using former Sky presenter Di Dougherty as its brand ambassador along with rugby players-turned TV personalities, Austin Healey and Will Greenwood.

Now Sarah-Jane Mee – television and radio presenter at Sky News and Sky Sports – is joining the exciting line up. Mee, who has covered news, sport and showbiz alongside presenters Eamonn Holmes and Kay Burley, is perhaps best known for Hancock’s Half-Time which she presented with comedian Nick Hancock and Central Soccer Night which she co-hosted with former Liverpool and Leicester striker Stan Collymore.

Currently presenting Football First and Cricket Am, Mee recently became the first woman to host an event on the pitch at Lord’s during England’s one day series against Pakistan.

A huge sports fan, tennis player and self-confessed gym bunny, Mee, unlike Dougherty, Healey andGreenwood, who are single figure golfers, is an absolute newcomer to golf.

Keen to learn, she has chosen to work with Lynx and golf professional Dean Wingrove at Wimbledon Park Golf Club over the coming months and will record and blog about her experiences.

She explains: “In my profession it is important that I understand as much about every sport as I possibly can and as the game has always appealed to me I grabbed at the chance to learn. Lynx are a dynamic company to work with and have a brand which I understand once dominated the ladies market, so learning the game with their help and support was a natural choice.”

Joint Managing Director Steve Elford said: “Sarah-Jane represents the kind of woman we want to reach and, like Di Dougherty, will be a great asset to our brand. She is learning with Crystal irons, which have big cavities and thick soles and which have already given her confidence while the loft and large sweet spot on 460cc titanium driver has got her hitting the ball a fair distance already. If Sarah-Jane enjoys golf as much as we expect her to I hope she’ll lend her support to our campaign to get more people – especially women – into golf which we all know has been somewhat stagnant for a few years.”
