The Asia Pacific Golf Summit has developed a very good reputation for being one of the finest golf conferences in the world and it is already showing great promise of becoming an even better event in 2009.
World-class convention facilities have been lined up for the 2009 Asia Pacific Golf Summit which will be held in the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur 26th – 28th October.
“This is a mind-blowing facility – it is perhaps one of the finest facilities of its kind in the world and we are absolutely delighted to have selected Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia to host our event this year,” was the reaction of Mike Sebastian, managing director of Asia Pacific Golf Development Conferences Pte Ltd.
“The ultimate success of an international event like ours is contingent on a number of factors – two of them being the actual convention facility and the other is the host nation,” explained Mike. “In this case, the convention facility is world class and one can‘t ask for a more beautiful and cordial host nation than Malaysia.”
The 2009 Asia Pacific Golf Summit will be staged at the sprawling multi-million dollar one-of-a-kind convention centre. It is strategically located and close to the KLIA International Airport at Sepang and is connected by a very efficient network of highways and light rail services.
“I can promise all delegates and sponsors that the 2009 Summit will set standards that are going to be very hard to beat,” was Georgina Wong’s commitment.

The Putrajaya International Convention Centre comes under the jurisdiction of the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Department.
“This will mean that the Summit will be centrally coordinated and will involve the participation of all government owned agencies which will ensure that the staging of this event will be a seamless exercise of efficiency,” explained V. Valluvan Veloo, deputy under secretary at the Prime Minister’s Department responsible for PICC.
“The PICC will be a one-stop centre where the Summit’s conference proceedings will take place and we will have acres of exhibition space available to stage a world class show-and-tell industrial show,” said Mike.
The 2009 Summit is expected to draw about 400 to 600 delegates from Asia, Australia, the United States, Europe and the rest of the world.
“The primary thrust of the 2009 Summit is to make attendance affordable without compromising on total quality and our partners in Malaysia are totally committed to making this possible,” Mike revealed.
Georgina interjected, “Everything is being executed in the true and disarming spirit of ‘Malaysia Boleh’ (Malaysia Can Do It!) and we find this most encouraging as the world dips into further economic gloom.”
Given the one-stop facility of the PICC, everything points to the 2009 Summit being a truly memorable and spell-binding experience.
