International Golf & Resort Management Ltd (IGRM) has completed the successful handover of the Laguna Lang Co championship golf course, part of the Laguna Hue Project in Vietnam, to luxury hotel operator Banyan Tree, for whom it has acted as the Golf Project and Construction Manager.
IGRM oversaw the development of the Sir Nick Faldo-designed golf course, its practice facilities and all golf-related infrastructure, in addition to which it advised on the course maintenance facilities, maintenance equipment and grass procurement. Since August 2010, IGRM has guided the project through the detailed design and tendering the stages of golf course, engineering and landscape design as well as budgeting and all the on-site activities including clearance, bulk earthworks, shaping, irrigation, drainage installation and grassing.
Located in a 280-acre beachfront site within an hour’s drive of Da Nang and Phu Bai international airports, Laguna Hue is set to become one of the premier integrated resorts and second-home destinations inVietnam. In addition to the golf course, Laguna Hue will eventually boast seven world-class hotels, a luxury spa, resort residences and a town centre with substantial retail and recreational facilities.
“The Laguna Lang Co course at Laguna Hue has been an extremely challenging, yet rewarding, project for the entire IGRM team led on site by David Mathews. To build a golf course within 18 months is a rare achievement in South East Asia and we are incredibly proud to leave the project in such an advanced state that the client is happy to now undertake all the finishing responsibilities,” commented Steve Clement, IGRM’s Director of Golf Project Management Services.
“We depart safe in the knowledge that the remaining golf course works are in the capable hands of the main contractor TEHC and will be completed to the same exacting standards that IGRM has established. The experience gained working on this multi-million dollar project will prove invaluable to our clients and the future projects in which IGRM is involved.”
IGRM is headquartered in the UK with regional offices in Russia, Brazil and Mexico. It boasts an international team of experts with the skills and resources to provide a competitive edge in a highly-challenging marketplace where quality of management is the key to success.
Following the successful completion of Laguna Hue, IGRM will concentrate on its other existing projects, which include the soon-to-be-opened Harrow Park Golf Club in Abuja, Nigeria and the beautifully-situated Villafranca Golf Resort in northernTuscany, and the pioneering Rio de Janeiro International Resort in Brazil, which is in the final stages of planning with construction expected to start shortly.
