Di Dougherty has announced details of the first of several golf tournaments to be staged by Lynx Golf – the iconic brand of the ‘90’s that helped to secure major championship wins for Fred Couples and Ernie Els. The former Sky Sports’ golden girl, appointed brand ambassador to spearhead the European comeback of Lynx, revealed the details this week of the first event aimed for PGA club professionals.
The Lynx Golf Classic will take place on 20th September, 2012 at Burhill Golf Club hosted by Dougherty and fellow brand ambassador Austin Healey. Open to PGA club professionals, it offers a staggering prize fund of £10,000, a first prize of £4,000 and free entry for all competitors.
Di Dougherty explains, “Lynx sees the club professional as a vital part of their business expansion. As I intend to campaign to get more people to take up the game, it is fitting that this is our first golf tournament.”
