Letters Invest in New Tour Truck

John Letters of Scotland, the equipment brand with 94 years of clubmaking history, is delighted to announce they have secured the services of a new state-of-the-art Tour truck as well as the technical expertise of Master club maker, Neil Cooke, to improve their support on all Tours.

Starting with the ISPA Handa Senior PGA Championships at Slaley Hall, John Letters has teamed up with the renowned club builder, Cooke and his company Technical Golf Services to provide technical and tour support services and helpScotland’s finest clubmaker since 1918 improve their presence and service levels on tour.

Cooke, who will also be continuing his work with Golfsmith, commented: “I’m delighted to have signed an agreement with John Letters and be working with them to take things to the next level on tour; they’re a great brand with a great heritage in the game. With their new products and the new tour truck – I’m sure we’ll turn a few people’s heads on our travels.”

The news follows a successful start to 2012 for John Letters ofScotland. Already adding to their impressive tour presence in 2011, which included investment in a luxury six-berth motor home and three Dodge 4×4 personnel vehicles, the addition of a new Tour truck featuring workshop and meeting facilities, as well as the services of a highly respected club builder Cooke and Short-game specialist Andy Gorman, the brand continues its efforts to compete at the highest level once again.

In addition to supporting numerous European Tour and Senior events, the new tour workshop and staff will also be used to bolster the brand’s resurgence in the game supporting retailers, events and also customer demo days; taking the service and craftsmanship usually reserved for the games best players – to golfers of all levels and abilities.

Under the Stewardship of Class AA PGA Professional John Andrew, John Letters of Scotland are making big strides to regain the title as the finest clubmaker in golf and the investment in the tour and tour support vehicles, on the back of recent investment in a new Showroom and Workshop in St Andrews and launch of new Master Model products are a continuation of the famous Scottish brand’s commitment to achieve this.

John Andrew, Managing Director, commented: “We’re delighted to be going back out on-tour in 2012 with a new truck and the expertise of Neil Cooke in our tour technical staff.  We continue to support the tours and have invested heavily in them the past couple of years; there are not too many brands outside of the big manufacturers that can do this.”

We’ve also added Short-game specialist Andy Gorman, who will be following the European Tour – so this coupled with a bigger and better tour truck and more personnel – we’re looking forward to exciting 2012 for John Letters.”

The Letters truck features a fully-equipped tour workshop offering re-gripping, re-shafting, frequency matching, custom grinding, launch monitor analysis, repairs as well as full customisation of all clubs from driver to putter. There is also a lounge area for meetings with DVD player/screen and a fully stocked fridge.

As well as the state-of-the-art tour truck, John Letters has also recently launched new products to highly-coveted Master Model collection including a new set of bladed irons, tour-inspired Grind wedges and also a fairway wood to accompany the award-winning Master Model driver launched at the end of 2011.

“We are handcrafting our equipment in St Andrewsand bringing back the art of custom made clubs – so it is important our presence, and service, on tour reflected our ethos and our goal to produce the finest equipment possible. It’s part of a long-term plan to build the John Letters brand back into the force it was in 50’s, 60’s and 70’s” added Andrew.
