HowDidiDo boasts a current membership of more than 330,000 and achieved more than 60 million page views during 2011. And the site has already seen a 17 per cent increase in page visits year on year.
Now functioning fully, the main additions include a new individual statistical summary page for each member; a new charts and graphs facility to display the statistics in an improved graphical format; a fresh way of comparing scores in club competitions; and navigational improvements to other areas of the site such as the forums.
HowDidiDo’s managing director, Barry Dyett, said: “The new pages are intended to bring new golfers to the site as well as to provide more information and interactivity for existing members.
“We have developed the site to enable those who wish to analyse their game statistically may do so in a more focused and graphical way. All competition results now show a comparison between each member’s score, their average and their best. Players can now see their greens in regulation and averages at the par-threes, fours and fives, with a graph displaying all their gross scores and their shot distribution.
“It’s an organic development for the site and the response to the new features has proved very positive. We believe it will enhance the HowDidiDo experience for all our members and visitors.”
One member, Gareth Irwin, from Prenton GC, on Merseyside, contacted the site and said: “The new statistics features are brilliant. As someone who loves the game and has kept all their own statistics for over 15 years I am so pleased to see a website where you can look at and enjoy your previous scores from the last few years. I hope many appreciate it like I do. Keep up the good work.”
