Ground-breaking at Cortina

8.03am 1st July 2008 - Course Development

The project to build Harradine Golf’s design for Golf Cortina D’Ampezzo in the Italian Dolomite mountains will proceed in two phases. The first phase has already commenced.

Tough and protracted negotiations with the environmentalists and ecologists finally allowed the project to go ahead. The environmentalists recognized the ecological sustainability and the positive nature of the project, especially as their concerns were solved by various compromises on the detailed design and specified construction methodology.

Phase 1 consists of the first 9 holes. The second 9 holes have been designed and the usual procedures for the building permits have been submitted.

This course will be an unforgettable summer attraction for all golfers and tourists alike and is situated in the most ‘chic’ winter resort of Italy and site of the 1956 Winter Olympics. The site, layout and panorama are absolutely magnificent.
