HLL Humberts Leisure, the property specialists to the golf and golf hotel industries, reports the sale of Middleton Hall Golf Club, Norfolk. The property has been sold to a lifestyle buyer from Leicestershire.
The purchase price was not disclosed but regular readers of Golf Business News.com will recall that when Middleton Hall Golf Club was first marketed last October the guide price was quoted as “offers in the region of £1.0 – £1.25 million”.
Middleton Hall Golf Club is located close to Kings Lynn, the Norfolk Coast and the Sandringham Estate. The property comprises a fine 18 hole 5,785 yard (par 71) Bryan Griffiths designed parkland golf course, a 10 bay floodlit golf driving range with adjacent golf shop and golf practice facilities, together with a substantial clubhouse. The property is mainly freehold – but includes two leased holes.
Middleton Hall Golf Club, which opened in 1989 and had been under the control of the previous proprietors for the last 11 years, was offered to the market as a retirement sale. The Club has an established, profitable trading record, but still offers good potential for commercialisation. The sale is HLL Humberts Leisure’s fourth East Anglian golf course disposal in recent times and confirms the market’s ongoing interest in the golf sector.
The sale was handled by Humberts Leisure’s Ben Allen and Paul Barnes. Ben Allen said, “Middleton Hall Golf Club is an established golf business that proved to be of interest to existing golf operators and particularly lifestyle purchasers. The Club offers the full scope of facilities for golfers and non-golfing clientele and yet is easily manageable. We wish the new owners every success at Middleton Hall Golf Club.”
