Cambourne's Pay & Play Golf site

Savills has been instructed by MCA, the consortium behind Cambourne, to sell six sites for non residential use.

Cambourne is a new town in south Cambridgeshire which is bringing together three villages into a settlement which will eventually have a population of around 10,000.

Covering 150 acres (60.7 hectares) between Greater and Upper Cambourne, the largest parcel of land has outline planning permission for an 18 hole ‘pay and play’ golf course.

The remaining sites range in size from 0.26 acre (0.1 hectares) in Lower Cambourne to 3.8 acres (1.5 hectares) adjoining the new Elms BMW and Mini dealership on the edge of the Cambourne Business Park which is suitable for development as a car showroom or a range of employment uses.

The smallest site could accommodate a small food convenience retail unit or day nursery, while the other three are suitable for a wide variety of commercial enterprises including hotel, restaurant and care home use.

Neil Perrin, director of Savills Cambridge says: “Cambourne has developed over the last 10-15 years into a hugely successful self contained community with all of the amenities you would expect to find in a small market town. There are in excess of 3,200 homes already built providing a resident population of around 8,500. Planning permission is in place for a further 950 new homes and construction of the latest phase has recently commenced. The sites we are instructed to sell provide opportunities for developers, tenants and owner occupiers to expand their business in this established, sustainable and award winning community.”
