Troon Golf strengthens its EMA presence

Troon Golf® has strengthened the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMA) corporate team with several key additions and promotions. As the number of Troon managed facilities continue to grow, Troon Golf has bolstered the team to manage the expansion efficiently and continue to deliver an effective service to the entire portfolio of courses. Troon Golf EMA has announced the following additions and promotions to the team to help assist facilities growth and development.

Klaas Boon joins the Troon Golf Middle East office in a promoted role as Operations Manager. Klaas has extensive experience in the hospitality industry having worked as director of human resources for the Hyatt in a variety of locations. Klaas also brings a knowledge and understanding of how to influence the standard of service and hospitality in developing countries, having spent time in places such as Azerbaijan. Klaas transfers from The Montgomerie, Dubai, where he spent four years playing an instrumental role in establishing the operational standards of this world-class facility.

In his new position, Klass will focus on delivering the ‘Troon Golf Experience’ across the growing Middle East portfolio.

Declan McCollam has returned to Troon Golf as Operations Manager, Europe following a stint at some of Australia’s finest golf courses, including director of golf at two Troon Golf managed and award winning clubs. Brookwater Golf Club, Brisbane, Australia won the Golf Digest ‘Best New Course’ award and The Golf Club Kennedy Bay Perth, Australia receiving the Golf Digest ‘Best Public Facility’ award.

Both accolades were awarded during Declan’s tenure, a further testament to his dedication to all aspects of golf resorts and facilities operations. After serving three years in the Australian office, his impressive resume credentials along with his wealth of experience will add significant value to the Troon Golf team.

Alison Scott joins Troon Golf EMA as Financial Controller. Alison brings with her an impressive financial resume, including time working for Disney as assistant manager, finance and senior financial analyst, that will help keep Troon Golf’s impressive expansion under financial prosperity.

Other notable new appointments that will strengthen Troon Golf facilities operations are:
• Marc Dressler who joins the company as General Manager of the Agalarov Estates, Moscow, Russia along with Brad Hines as Superintendent. Brad has a wealth of experience at world-class facilities, including the Westin La Cantera Resort, Texas, home of the PGA Valero Texas Open.
• Further EMA Superintendent appointments include: Michele Costa, who assumes his role at Le Vigne del Barolo and Pietro Binaghi at Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany, Italy. Gary Finnerty replaces Reid Scholes, at Navarino Dunes in Messinia, Greece.

Bruce Glasco, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, EMA, Troon golf, is delighted at the extension of the team. “We would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone that has joined and congratulate those promoted into new positions. Troon Golf continues to set the bench mark in the industry and the new appointments will add strength and depth to what is already a great team,” he said.
