HowDidiDo Media is to sponsor the Golf Club Managers’ Association’s prestigious manager-of-the-year competition for the next two years.
The company behind Europe’s biggest online golf community – HowDidiDo enjoys a membership of more than 300,000, and contains a database of handicaps, results and scores for in excess of 1,200,000 men and women – has agreed to back both the 2012 and 2013 competitions.
HowDidiDo Media’s managing director, Barry Dyett, said: “The manager-of-the-year title is a very prestigious one. It’s a great honour to be recognised by one’s peers in any walk of life, so we are delighted to commit to supporting the competition for two years. It’s an important event for us and the industry and we’re meeting some exceptional golf club managers as a result of it. It also gives the definitive answer to the question HowDidiDo?”
The award recognises managers and secretaries of golf clubs for the outstanding work they have done in recent times. The prize includes a trip for two to Rioja inSpain, including visits to vineyards and golf.
Last year’s winner, Peter Johns from Eaton GC, won after he brought in significant financial growth – largely owing to an improved bar and restaurant offering, club website and marketing operation – to his club during a recession.
HowDidiDo Media works with partners in golf to develop effective strategies that will offer greater return on marketing investment than traditional advertising, while at the same time driving investment and growth within the sport at a grass-roots level.
