BIGGA Golf Environment Competition receives media boost

12.05am 28th January 2008 - Media

The BIGGA Golf Environment Competition, won by Notts (Hollinwell) GC in 2007, has received a major boost for 2008.

The three major sponsors Ransomes Jacobsen, Scotts and Syngenta have all renewed their sponsorship while they have been joined by highly respected golf magazine Golf Monthly as a media sponsor, which will ensure a high profile for the competition and the winners.

“We are delighted to welcome Golf Monthly into the fold. The BIGGA Golf Environment Competition is one of BIGGA’s most important events each year and promotes good environment practice throughout the game. Golf Monthly’s involvement will help to ensure that the golfer learns more about the great work which is carried out on Britain’s golf courses,” said BIGGA Chief Executive, John Pemberton.

“Thanks to Golf Monthly, Ransomes Jacobsen, Scotts and Syngenta we hope that the competition continues to go from strength to strength.”

The competition was first held by Amazone in 1995 and was taken over by BIGGA two years later. Since then the Roll of Honour has identified many of the country’s most environmentally pro-active golf clubs.
