The Professional Golfers’ Association (The PGA) has expanded its prestigious portfolio of branded golfing facilities after agreeing a deal to brand the golf course at the Black Stork Resort in Slovakia.

The PGA golf course, designed by Martin Munka and Hans Georg Erhadt and opened in 2000, offers 27 holes in three loops of nine, each averaging 3,430 yards/3,136 metres per nine from the championship tees.

The Black Stork Resort also boasts a large golf academy and associated par three academy course and in addition also features a four star international hotel, which includes a spa and extensive leisure facilities.

The PGA-branded course at Black Stork will join a growing collection of worldwide facilities as the PGA continues its commitment to grow the game both nationally and internationally and to provide additional employment opportunities to its 7,800 plus worldwide members and assistants.

Guy Moran, the PGA’s head of property and development, said: “We are delighted to be associated with this excellent golf course inSlovakia. We believe the course at Black Stork, plus its other broader facilities will enhance and grow the game of golf and we are very proud that the golf course will carry the PGA brand.”

Black Stork Resort, in common with other PGA branded facilities across the globe, places emphasis on the highest standards of design, safety and technological and educational equipment.

Other PGA branded facilities include the 2014 Ryder Cup course, the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles; the PGA National Course and PGA National Academy at The Belfry, headquarters to the PGA; the PGA Golf Academy at the award-winning Bayhood Beijing No.9; PGA National Russia (in development) and the PGA Sultan Course, host to next year’s Eisenhower Trophy, at Antalya Golf Club, Turkey.
