Count down to Opening of Casa Green Town

12.59am 2nd November 2011 - Course Development

Casa Green Town 18th hole

With just a few areas of rough left to seed and the grow-in phase of the Casa Green Town golf project well underway, the opening of the course early next summer looks like a shoo-in.

Construction work on the course at Casa Green Town, near Casablanca, Morocco, started in summer 2009 only one year after the owner, CGI appointed Jeremy Pern as golf course architect.

“I am delighted with how the past few months have gone- the course is looking amazingly fit. My decision to use platinum paspallum on greens tees and fairways seems to have paid off so far. Reduced water consumption during grow-in has been quite notable, due in the main to having an experienced greenkeeper looking after the beast.,” says Jeremy Pern.

“A remarkable team effort all round; with a client- C.G.I. – whose intelligent ‘hands off’ approach was exemplary, an experienced and reactive  contractor –Gregori – full time on site supervision by Oliver Pern, irrigation design by Didier Comte, landscaping by Carey Duncan and the clients future operating partner – Braemar- have between them

managed to do the impossible- to bring  a golf project in Morocco to practical completion on time and within budget.

“And it looks pretty neat I have to say. Let’s hope the golfers like it as much as we all do.!”
