Paul Baxter is to retire as English Golf Union Chief Executive early in 2008 and the search is on for his replacement. Paul plans to step down from his post in February.
Recruitment consultants have been appointed to find his successor and a six figure package is on offer to the right candidate, who is described as being a “proven diplomat and relationship builder.”
Other attributes include an in inclusive and collaborative style of leadership and an understanding of the management of volunteers. He (or she) should have high level communication skills and be entirely comfortable with acting as the ambassador for the EGU with members and the media.
The English Golf Union is one of the largest governing bodies in sport. It looks after the interests of over 1,900 golf clubs and 740,000 club members. It is a not-for-profit organisation.
