Experienced golfers and those new to the game will equally enjoy Metro Golf which combines the fun of playing or learning the game with the relaxed atmosphere of a lounge bar in a fashionable new London development.
Metro Golf has installed six Full-Swing Golf Simulators. With thousands in operation around the world, Full Swing is the market leader, having integrated their proprietary ball tracking system with the widest range of championship golf courses available.
Guests at the centre can play with friends, on many of the world’s top golf courses. These include the most famous of all, St Andrews, as well as Oakmont, the venue for last month’s US Open, and Ryder Cup venues Valderrama and The Belfry.
For those who want to learn how to play golf, or get help to improve, a team of fully-qualified PGA golf professionals will give lessons, with the very latest in video teaching and swing analysis systems, the simulators track the ball’s flight and can also be used as a practice range.
Metro Golf is also an ideal place for corporate events and private parties; full venue hire is an option and this includes exclusive use of the lounge bar, reception and meeting suite areas as well.
Indoor golf is a fun and easy way to learn or to play – within two minutes of arriving you‘ll be hitting a ball. And the opening hours at Metro Golf will accommodate play from 7 am until 11 pm during weekdays and from 9 am until 11 pm at weekends.
Indoor golf has over the last three years become one of London’s most popular pastimes. For both “time-poor” players who want a hour or two’s fun and relaxation, and for learners and improvers who want tuition and practice facilities on their doorstep, Metro Golf is ideally located to service a growing market.
The centre is part of the new development at Paddington Central, just a few minutes walk from Paddington Station, which has a growing business community and residential population.
Metro serves food and drink while you play, and there’s sport on wide-screen TVs, an Xbox 360, a golf shop, and a lounge area where you can simply relax.
The shop features TaylorMade clubs with integrated club-fitting centre, Adidas clothing and shoes and a selection of women’s apparel from the sophisticated Millie Fox range.
Metro Golf is the brainchild of Richard Morris. Richard is a former British Amateur Champion and one of London’s top golf teachers, for whom the opening of Metro Golf is the realisation of a dream and of several years planning.
“I have long wanted to find a way to bring golf to a wider audience for whom the traditional golf club is either hard to get to, or not relaxed and welcoming,” says Richard. “For young professional people especially, who live or work in central London, it is almost impossible to find the time to play, let alone to learn. But simulator technology is now so good that indoor golf is a realistic alternative and in many ways more enjoyable than traditional outdoor golf.
“For individuals learning and practicing, the technology gives much better feedback than a traditional driving range does; and for friends playing together or groups and parties, the relaxed atmosphere with food and drink while you play delivers a hugely enjoyable experience.”
